What to Do When You Get a Snack Attack
Hello Ovenhuggers! By now I’m guessing you have gotten into the swing of things back to school and back to daily routines. I’ve posted a Breakfast Guide for Busy Families and How to Prepare a Fun Sack Lunch. Today I am sharing with you some extra special tips. I asked all the teens I currently coach what they do when they are struck by a snack attack. I’m proud of these smart, healthy teens and their resourcefulness.
Here are some tips on What to Do When You Get a Snack Attack, straight from the pros! Grab one of the following simple snacks for yourself to eat:
- Hard boiled Eggs
- Sliced bananas with Peanut Butter
- Apples and Cheese
- Fruits or Veggies
- unsweetened Apple Sauce
- a handful of Almonds
- Yogurt Parfaits
Now for a tip straight from Coach Bita. Be sure to drink WATER when you are starving! There are so many great flavored waters out there these days! Drinking water can feel like a treat. Sometimes we think we are so, so hungry when in fact we are mainly super thirsty. Take a breath and wait 5 minutes after you down that water. You will feel refreshed and better able to think of a healthy choice to put together for yourself.
Hope these teen inspired ideas for healthy snacks help You next time you are “hangry” and faced with a Snack Attack! What do you choose in between meals? Please share your ideas with us in the Comments – we are all in this together. Until the next post, sending you a big Oven Hug!
