This Green Goddess Smoothie is loaded with immune-boosting vitamins and plant-based proteins. It can be made as a fresh juice or blended with ice as a refreshing cold smoothie. The tangy-sweet flavor of ginger-lime smoothies is one of our favorite blends.
During cold and flu seasons its a good idea to boost consumption of fresh citrus. Grapefruit and oranges are perfect to keep in the rotation as they tend to have a good shelf life. We are blessed with a citrus tree that produces juicy lemons. It’s always nice to have a few limes around for extra zest and for cocktails. We are use to keeping dried limes around too as part of our Persian pantry essentials.
Nutritious ingredients:
- Spinach for plant-based protein
- Pineapple, kiwi, lemon, and lime for fresh, potent, immune-boosting Vitamin C
- Ginger for its medicinal healing properties
Here’s a short, 1-minute step-by-step video showing how to make this nutritious, immune-boosting green smoothie:
This smoothie calls for some tropical fruit.
Ingredients:
- fresh baby spinach leaves
- pineapple
- kiwi
- lemon and lime juice
- ginger
- almond milk
- ice (optional)
To prep for this smoothie, peel and slice the kiwi fruit into chunks. We prefer fresh pineapple in this smoothie recipe. Buying whole pineapples is most economical. There are a few methods to peel and cut a pineapple. I prefer using a coring tool that is specifically for pineapples.
Here is a video from a few years back where I demonstrate how to use a pineapple corer:
Watching it makes me realize that my video creation skills are improving!

There are also two ways to blend up this yummy juice. You can use a traditional blender or our preference, a mini personal-sized blender. My favorite is the Bella Blender.
